The Heavy Duty Vertical Boring and Milling Machine line-up includes an 80”, 100”, 120” or 160” option, or even larger, by request, for increased productivity on the most demanding projects.
Manufacturer Gardner Denver Nash required a specialized Vertical Boring and Milling machine and looked to Summit to deliver. The company produces Nash Liquid Ring Pumps and Compressors. Gardner Denver Nash is a global company that supplies vacuum technology to many industries, such as Mining, Paper & Pulp, Sugar and Ethanol, Chemistry, Oil & Gas, Food, and others.

Summit customer Mr. Antônio Clarete Guimarães Filho is the Supervisor of Engineering and Manufacturing at Gardner Denver Nash located in São Paulo, Brazil
Summit installed the VBM DCV120 in February 2008 for the Gardner Denver Nash Brazil facility. A special height under the cross rail was required at 150”. The customized Summit machine is still being used today to manufacture the largest vacuum pump made in the world. The photo demonstrates the housing being machined with the Summit VBM DCV120 for the large pumps.
Mr. Clarete commented “The Summit VBM DCV120 is a good machine that has been very helpful in machining large parts, because of its rigidity and capacity.”
He continued “With a chuck of 3 meters and the tool holder of 3.5 m height we have various types of machined parts, various materials such as iron and stainless steel. The Pendant Control Panel with built in DRO display and use of linear scales on all axes and digital rulers make its operation simple. Its rigidity has also collaborated to guarantee the product's specifications in addition to contributing to the low maintenance, thereby increasing machine availability for production.”
Regarding the legendary support from Summit, Mr. Clarete added: “The team of assembly and try-out was very efficient, as well as after sales support has also given good service whenever requested.”
